Job summary

Southport & Formby Primary Care Network is seeking a General Practice Manager to lead our teaching practice, overseeing day-to-day operations and strategic planning.

You will manage HR, payroll, budgets, and compliance with CQC and NHSE, while supporting partners and the PCN with service improvements.

The role requires experience in healthcare management, multidisciplinary teams, and a proactive, solution-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Excellent leadership with experience managing a large team.
• Experience in HR processes, recruitment, appraisals and staff development.
• Proven ability to forecast budgets and manage finances.
• Track record delivering projects and change management.
• Experience in primary care settings and NHS GP practice.
• Strong literacy and numeracy for running a small/medium business.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the practice.
• Lead HR processes including recruitment and appraisals.
• Manage payroll, budgets and financial forecasting.
• Ensure CQC compliance and regulatory obligations.
• Coordinate with PCN and local commissioners.
• Develop and implement practice development and continuity plans.
• Lead and coordinate projects and IT systems compliance.
