Job summary

AECOM in the United Kingdom is recruiting an engineer to develop and deliver grid connection services projects across the UK and Ireland. You will focus on power system studies, grid code compliance, and cross-disciplinary collaboration with major Power & Energy clients.

The role requires proficiency in PSCAD, PowerFactory, Python scripting, and a strong understanding of UK Grid Code requirements, with opportunities to engage in diverse projects and client engagements within a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Experience with Engineering Design Consultancy, OEM or utility planning teams.
• Strong knowledge of UK Grid Code, G99, G5/5, P28 and Ireland Grid Code beneficial.
• Proficiency in PSCAD, PowerFactory and Python scripting.
• Familiarity with PSSE and ETAP is desirable.
• Excellent written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of electrical design through power system studies.
• Undertake detailed power system/grid code studies.
• Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables.
• Conduct grid connection due diligence including prospecting and optioning.
• Develop construction cost estimates and technical effort estimates.
• Support quality control of design calculations and drawings.
• Prepare technical specification sections and inputs to budgets.
• Liaise with OEMs and clients to drive technical outcomes and bids.
