Job summary

Arup’s High Voltage team in Manchester, with Birmingham or Bristol as alternative locations, is seeking Senior Engineers experienced in power system studies to join our multidisciplinary design commissions.

You will lead studies for transmission and distribution networks, ensure GB grid code compliance, mentor early‑career engineers and collaborate with TOs, DNOs and clients to deliver robust, safe and sustainable power systems.

Qualifications

Senior candidate with MSc/MEng/BEng in Electrical Engineering or similar; Chartered Engineer preferred.
Experience in power system studies including steady state, dynamic and transient analyses.
Strong knowledge of GB grid code requirements for new connections.
Experience mentoring and leading engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Carry out power system studies for transmission and distribution networks and recommend technical solutions.
Apply industry-standard software to modelling and analysis.
Lead technical project teams and deliver study packages on time and to budget.
Engage with TOs, DNOs, clients and other engineering packages.
Provide technical assurance for studies and documentation.
Mentor and support early‑career engineers.
