Arup’s High Voltage team in Manchester, with Birmingham or Bristol as alternative locations, is seeking Senior Engineers experienced in power system studies to join our multidisciplinary design commissions.
You will lead studies for transmission and distribution networks, ensure GB grid code compliance, mentor early‑career engineers and collaborate with TOs, DNOs and clients to deliver robust, safe and sustainable power systems.

We deliver power system studies for renewable generation developers, datacentres, private‑wire networks and transmission and distribution utilities in the UK and globally. These studies are part of larger multi‑disciplinary design commissions. Our team carries out grid connection studies for offshore wind (HVAC and HVDC), solar PV, BESS, hydro, green hydrogen, data centres and decarbonised industrial demand, including complex dynamic and electromagnetic transient studies in industry‑standard software. We also develop and deliver cutting‑edge innovation to clients to help drive the energy transition.
Due to growth, we’re looking for Senior Engineers experienced in power system studies to join our High Voltage team in Manchester, Birmingham or Bristol.
Senior candidate holding a minimum of an MSc, MEng or BEng in Electrical Engineering / Electrical Power Systems or similar. Preferably a Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership with the IET.
