Job summary
GE Vernova’s Power Conversion & Storage division seeks a Power Systems Engineer to design, model, and validate power architectures for critical electrification applications. You will use advanced tools to analyse systems, produce design documentation, and support tendering through commissioning and in-service phases.
You will work across industrial, maritime, and defence domains, traveling UK and overseas for project assignments. Chartered status or progress toward CEng is advantageous.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical/Power Engineering or related field and relevant professional achievements.
- Proven experience in Power Systems engineering at equipment or systems level.
- Proficiency with MATLAB, DigSilent PowerFactory, eTAP, PSCAD or PSS/E.
- Knowledge of marine classification rules or IEC/MIL/DEF STAN standards.
Responsibilities
- Generate and validate system architectures and SLDs for AC/DC power systems.
- Perform power systems studies using MATLAB, PowerFactory, eTAP, PSCAD, or PSS/E.
- Author equipment specifications and technical documentation for LV/HV systems.
- Capture requirements and support validation throughout the lifecycle.
- Provide technical support during commissioning and through-life obsolescence.
