Job summary

RED Engineering Design is seeking a Principal Power Systems Engineer to lead power system design for data centre projects. You will run simulations, support design teams and ensure reliable, efficient power distribution across LV/MV networks, up to 132 kV where required.

The role offers hybrid working with offices in London, Bicester or Newcastle. Candidates should have strong ETAP expertise and a background in power systems engineering for data centres.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Power Engineering.
• Experience in power systems engineering, preferably within the data centre industry.
• Proficiency in ETAP, DigSilent or SKM.

Responsibilities

• Run computer simulations to analyze power distribution in data centres.
• Support design teams and ensure reliability of power systems.
• Validate input data and prepare comprehensive reports of simulation results.
• Coordinate protection, arc flash, harmonics studies and system performance.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of simulations and design decisions.
