Job summary

RED Engineering Design is seeking a Principal Power Systems Engineer to be based in London, Bicester or Newcastle. You will lead the design and optimization of data centre power systems, running load flows, short-circuit analyses and arc flash studies, and coordinating protection schemes with design teams.

The role requires strong experience with ETAP (essential) and DigSilent or SKM, plus a track record in HV/LV power networks and SCADA integration.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Power Engineering.
• Proven experience in power systems engineering, preferably in data centre environments.
• Proficiency in simulation software, especially ETAP (preferred) and DigSilent or SKM.
• Experience with Load Flow, Short Circuit, Arc Flash, and Harmonic studies.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and optimization of data centre power systems.
• Run load flow and short-circuit analyses; coordinate protection schemes.
• Prepare and present simulation results and design considerations.
• Support and review models and reports for the Power Systems team.
