Job summary

McLaren Automotive Ltd seeks a power electronics engineer to design and deliver components across vehicle programmes, including DC/DC converters and on-board chargers, ensuring cost, timing, quality and performance targets are met.

You will own the technical content, supervise design and integration, lead supplier activities, manage releases and validation plans, and ensure vehicle attributes such as NVH and thermal performance are achieved.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Automotive Engineering or related field.
• Strong background in electric drive tech and power electronics with production delivery experience.
• Experience with DC/DC converters, on-board chargers and high-voltage systems.
• Knowledge of CAN/LIN, diagnostics, and functional safety considerations.

Responsibilities

• Define component, system and functional requirements aligned with vehicle programmes.
• Own technical content of components and supervise design, development and integration.
• Lead supplier activities to meet timing, quality and cost targets.
• Manage engineering releases, ECR/ECN and change-control activities.
• Plan and deliver system and component validation and required testing.
• Support production readiness and delivery across projects.
