Job summary

GE Vernova in Rugby is seeking a Lead Power Electronics Integration Engineer to own the end-to-end design, integration and validation of megawatt-scale power converter systems for marine, naval, energy and industrial applications.

This senior individual contributor role sits at the crossroads of power electronics and mechanical engineering, requiring hands-on leadership across electrical and mechanical disciplines and the ability to drive cross-functional teams from concept through production.

Qualifications

• A degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• Significant experience in power electronics converter design and packaging for LV/MV systems.
• Solid background in thermal management, mechanical design and integration.
• Proficiency with EPLAN, MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, ANSYS or SolidWorks.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electromechanical integration design across full lifecycle of power converters and enclosures.
• Specify, design and document power electronic systems including cooling and mechanical concepts.
• Oversee testing, verification, and validation to meet standards and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze thermal and structural performance with mechanical engineers and simulations.
• Collaborate with suppliers to realise cost-effective, robust custom parts.
