Senior Policy Lead - Unsecured Consumer Credit

Job summary

UK Finance is seeking a Manager, Unsecured Consumer Credit to shape policy positions and support member engagement across the full breadth of unsecured consumer credit issues.

The post holder will drive industry positions on regulatory and legislative reforms, including CCA reform, coerced debt strategy, credit data and debt-related projects, and wider operational change aligned with priorities set by the Product and Service Board.

Qualifications

• High level knowledge of financial services, especially consumer credit, debt and credit data.
• Experience of stakeholder management.
• Experience in policy or operational work.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Flexible, independent worker and a team player with strong organisational and delivery skills.
• Ability to lead multi-disciplinary policy teams and present to governance committees.

Responsibilities

• Cross-team collaboration to deliver cross-cutting industry change programmes.
• Governance support for Credit PSB and committees; provide leadership and secretariat support.
• Policy development across unsecured consumer credit; synthesise regulatory change and drive customer outcomes.
• Coordinate and draft consultation responses on CCA reform, coerced debt, credit data and debt policy.
• Maintain a network with members, HMT, regulators, debt advisers and other stakeholders.
• Build relationships with member firms to reflect priorities in workplans and outputs.
• Support representational activities including media engagement, campaigns, briefings and events.
• Contribute to clear internal and external communications of policy developments.
• Flexibly contribute to wider team work as priorities develop.
