Job summary

Actemium UK, via Actemium Automation Warrington (part of Vinci Energies), is seeking a Senior Software Controls Engineer to deliver PLC, HMI and SCADA solutions across regulated industries. The role offers technical ownership, varied project work and strong support for wellbeing and career development.

You will lead software design, develop modular code, support FATs/SATs, and mentor junior engineers while integrating control systems with industrial networks and higher‑level ERP/MES systems.

Qualifications

• Experience with PLC/HMI/SCADA platforms, Siemens preferred.
• Knowledge of OT cybersecurity per IEC 62443.
• Understanding of instrumentation and process control philosophies.
• Proven leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Experience in regulated industries is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead software design, development and commissioning of PLC/HMI/SCADA systems.
• Produce technical documentation including system architectures, functional specs, I/O lists and test procedures.
• Develop structured, modular, and well‑commented code following company and industry standards.
• Support FATs, SATs and on‑site commissioning activities, including diagnostics, troubleshooting and software modifications.
• Integrate PLC/SCADA with field devices, industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus) and higher‑level systems (MES, ERP).
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership
