Job summary

Trinity Personnel Ltd is seeking a Senior PLC Controls Engineer to join an established engineering and automation business covering a varied portfolio across the UK. The role blends home working with office design, programming and site-based installation, offering ownership of projects from design through commissioning.

You will lead PLC programming across Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi and Codesys platforms, develop SCADA/HMI using WinCC/Ignition/FactoryTalk View, and contribute to building

Qualifications

• Solid electrical engineering background with understanding of electrical control panels.
• Experience designing, developing and modifying PLC programs.
• Strong knowledge of industrial automation and control systems.
• Confidently communicate technical information to customers and stakeholders.
• Capable of independently managing projects from design to on-site commissioning.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel UK-wide and stay away from home when required.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing and modifying PLC programs for industrial automation systems.
• Programming PLCs using Siemens, Allen-Bradley Rockwell, Mitsubishi and Codesys platforms.
• Developing control systems using Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Function Block Diagram and SCL.
• Designing and programming SCADA and HMI applications (WinCC, Ignition, FactoryTalk View).
• Developing bespoke industrial software using C++, C# and Visual Basic.
• Working with electrical control panels and integrating with PLC systems.
• Installing, testing, commissioning and fault-finding at customer sites.
• Reverse engineering existing systems for replacements and upgrades.
• Producing technical documentation and providing system training where required.
• Managing projects independently and maintaining strong client relationships.
