Job summary

Actemium Automation Warrington (part of Vinci Energies) seeks a Senior Software Controls Engineer to deliver PLC, HMI and SCADA solutions across regulated industries. You will own technical delivery from design to commissioning and mentor junior engineers.

You will work with Siemens platforms, integrate with Ethernet/IP, Profinet and Modbus, and apply IEC 62443 cybersecurity principles. The role offers varied project work, strong wellbeing and career development support, and a competitive

Qualifications

• Lead software design, development and commissioning of PLC/HMI/SCADA systems.
• Produce architectures, specs, IO lists and test procedures.
• Develop modular, well-commented code following standards.
• Assist FATs, SATs and on-site commissioning, including diagnostics and modifications.
• Integrate PLC/SCADA with field devices and industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus).
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
• Experience with PLC/HMI/SCADA platforms (Siemens preferred).
• Knowledge of OT cybersecurity per IEC 62443.
• Understanding of instrumentation, process engineering and control philosophies.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities
