Job summary

Our Future Health is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design and build cloud platforms that support participant websites, data processing, de-identification, and TRE sharing. You will drive platform requirements with engineering and operations and implement scalable, secure solutions.

You will lead a hands-on, iterative build, adopt GitOps practices, and own end-to-end deployments while collaborating across teams to meet aggressive scaling goals and regulatory considerations.

Qualifications

• High proficiency in cloud DevOps/platform engineering and large-scale live services (Azure, AWS or GCP).
• Hands-on experience developing infrastructure-as-code with Terraform, OpenTofu, Terragrunt, Pulumi following GitOps practices.
• Strong experience coding and automating tasks in Python.
• Experience with software engineering best practices: unit testing, code reviews, design documentation, debugging.
• Experience building data pipelines/ETL tools.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience deploying open-source technologies like Python, Node.JS, Ruby, Postgres and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance.
• Experience designing, supporting and troubleshooting production systems at scale.
• Understanding of technology stacks from networks to applications.
• Experience in agile methodology; pairing.
• Experience in regulated domain bonus.

Responsibilities

• Be part of our growing technology team to help create cloud platforms as we scale.
• Define platform requirements with engineering and operations.
• Use an iterative approach to building the platform from simple to complex.
• Help define development processes for a new team.
• Own solutions from conception to deployment and beyond, taking part in on-call rotas where necessary.
• Integrate and deploy third-party tools required by other teams.
• Translate innovative ideas into designs and implementations for distributed systems.
• Implement best practices for availability, scalability, and efficiency.
