Job summary

Raytheon UK is hiring a Senior Platform Engineer in Manchester. The role involves deploying and maintaining cloud-based platforms across business areas in a mature SCRUM environment, with a hybrid on-site arrangement.

You will work with Agile/DevOps practices, Terraform, Kubernetes, AWS/Azure, and CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins and Concourse. A secret clearance (SC/eDV) is required; 3 days on site per week.

Qualifications

• Willing and eligible to hold SC and eDV clearance.
• Experience in Agile, SCRUM or DevOps delivery models.
• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, Puppet, Chef or Ansible.
• Experience building and deploying large-scale applications in CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with container platforms and orchestration systems such as ECS, AKS, Kubernetes, Helm or Docker.
• Experience with automation and integration tools such as Jenkins, Concourse CI or cloud equivalents.
• Experience in scripting languages and source control.

Responsibilities

• Deploy applications and software to cloud or on-prem environments.
• Build and set up development tools and infrastructure.
• Understand the needs of project stakeholders.
• Automate and improve development and release processes.
• Ensure systems are secure against cyber threats.
• Identify technical problems and develop software updates and solutions.
• Collaborate with other engineers to ensure processes work as intended.
