Job summary

Raytheon UK is seeking a Principal Platform Engineer in Manchester to join our Cyber team. The role involves deploying applications to cloud or on-prem environments, and attaining eDV clearance as needed.

You will build tooling, work with stakeholders, and drive secure, automated release processes. Working in a mature Agile environment, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust infrastructure and scalable deployments across multiple business areas.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering in Agile/SCRUM/DevOps lifecycles.
• Cloud technologies (AWS or Azure) and modern platforms.
• Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible).
• Experience building/deploying large-scale apps in CI/CD pipelines.
• Container platforms and orchestration (ECS, AKS, Kubernetes, Helm).
• Automation and integration tools such as Jenkins or Concourse CI; source control.

Responsibilities

• Deploy applications and software to cloud or on-prem environments.
• Attain eDV clearance as required by the role.
• Build and set up development tools and infrastructure.
• Understand stakeholder needs and translate into technical work.
• Automate and improve development and release processes.
• Ensure systems are secure against cyber threats and incidents.
• Identify problems and develop software updates and solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure processes are followed.
