Job summary

Raytheon UK is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer in Manchester for a permanent, full‑time role with hybrid work (minimum 3 days onsite).

The role involves deploying applications to cloud or on‑prem environments, building development tools and infrastructure, and driving automation and secure release processes. Candidates should have Agile/DevOps experience and cloud/infrastructure as code expertise, with SC and eDV clearance being desirable.

Qualifications

Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM/DevOps delivery model.
Cloud technologies experience (AWS/Azure).
Infrastructure as code tooling experience (Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible).
Experience building/deploying large-scale applications in CI/CD pipelines.
Container platforms and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
Experience with automation and integration tools (Jenkins, Concourse CI or cloud equivalents).
Scripting and source control experience.

Responsibilities

Deploy applications and software to cloud or on-premise environments for various business areas.
Build and set up development tools and infrastructure.
Understand the needs of project stakeholders.
Automate and improve development and release processes.
Ensure systems are secure against cyber-security threats.
Identify technical problems and develop software updates and solutions.
Collaborate with engineers to ensure processes are followed.
