Job summary

Man Group, a global investment management firm headquartered in London, seeks a Senior Platform Engineer to stabilize and automate its infrastructure supporting quantitative research and trading. The role spans OpenStack, VMware, Kubernetes, and large-scale Linux deployments across distributed teams in London, Sofia, and Boston.

You will drive IaC maturity, contribute to OpenStack migrations, and participate in a 24/7 on-call rota while adopting AI-assisted tooling.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Linux systems administration at scale.
• Experience with virtualization and platform migrations.
• Ability to automate using Terraform and Ansible.
• Proven track record in large-scale infra projects.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and production troubleshooting.
• Comfort with on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate and evolve compute infra across VMware/OpenStack migrations.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain Linux systems at scale.
• Drive automation using Terraform and Ansible.
• Support Kubernetes platform and containerized workloads.
• Diagnose complex infra issues under pressure.
• Contribute to self-service platforms for researchers and engineers.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rota approximately one week every five weeks.
• Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to speed delivery.
