Job summary
Mech Tech Professionals is seeking a Senior Plant Technician / SAP for an Energy from Waste site in Allington, Kent. The role involves operating and monitoring plant via the DCS, carrying out start-ups and shutdowns, and acting as Senior Authorised Person (SAP).
The successful candidate will have experience in EfW or heavy industrial plants, SAP authorisation, and strong safety leadership. Competitive package with benefits and progression opportunities.
Qualifications
- Experience in EfW, power generation, process or heavy industrial plant.
- DCS experience – essential.
- SAP authorisation/experience – essential.
- Experience with boilers and rotating plant.
- Strong safety, leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Safe Systems of Work and risk assessments.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor plant via the DCS.
- Operate boilers, turbines, pumps and associated plant.
- Carry out start-ups, shutdowns, isolations and return-to-service activities.
- Act as Senior Authorised Person (SAP).
- Support maintenance activities and coordinate contractors.
- Respond to plant abnormalities and emergencies.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
