Job summary

FCC Environment in Allington (Maidstone) is seeking an Enhanced Technician to support safe, efficient operation of the Allington Energy from Waste Facility. You will operate plant systems via DCS, monitor environmental compliance, and work on a shift roster with a full-time role.

Responsibilities include operating plant, supporting maintenance, coordinating contractors, and driving safety and performance improvements.

Qualifications

Experience in plant operations or maintenance.
Knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation.
Experience working with boiler and rotating plant preferred.
NEBOSH or IOSH qualification desirable.
Ability to analyse technical issues and provide practical solutions.

Responsibilities

Operate plant safely and efficiently in line with FCC procedures and environmental standards.
Monitor and improve health, safety and environmental performance across the site.
Carry out plant activities, including waste handling, boilers, turbines, pumps and associated systems.
Support maintenance activities, including taking plant offline and returning it safely to service.
Coordinate contractors and ensure Safe Systems of Work are followed.
Lead and support operational improvements to increase plant performance.
Participate in investigations, incident reporting and root cause analysis.
Ensure all staff, contractors and visitors follow site safety procedures.
Act as a Senior Authorised Person and support emergency response where required.
