Job summary

The role requires experience with complex proposals, a solid understanding of planning law, and strong negotiation and communication skills. A full UK driving licence and RTPI membership (or progress toward it) are essential. Car allowance is offered as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a wide range of complex development proposals and appeals.
• Thorough understanding of the planning system and relevant legislation.
• Strong communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
• RTPI membership or working towards membership; progression to higher levels requires Chartered Status.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Assess planning proposals and provide professional planning advice to applicants and developers.
• Negotiate positive planning outcomes with applicants, developers and stakeholders.
• Lead and support junior colleagues within Development Management and Planning Enforcement.
• Attend site visits, meetings and contribute to high-quality decisions.
