Job summary

Yorkshire Water is recruiting a Senior Planner (SRO) to lead scheduling for a £3bn water infrastructure programme within the Asset Delivery PMO. You will set up the SRO PMO, establish holistic project, programme and risk management, and work with senior leaders to drive performance.

You'll join a team delivering major investments, with hybrid working in Leeds, 37 hours a week, and a clear pathway to influence regulatory compliance, cost control and delivery excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years' planning experience.
• Experience with large infrastructure programmes.
• Excellent communication skills.
• PMO experience in programme environments.
• Strong IT skills and planning tools knowledge, esp. Primavera P6.

Responsibilities

• Schedule Management: Create and maintain complex, integrated programme schedules and work breakdown structures.
• Compliance & Governance: Align timelines with Ofwat's gated process and internal corporate standards and requirements.
• Baseline & EVM: Build resource-loaded baselines suitable for Earned Value Management (EVM).
• Partner Oversight: Validate third-party contractor schedules against NEC contractual parameters.
• Performance Tracking: Monitor progress using SPI/CPI metrics and produce executive dashboards.
• Risk & Scenario Planning: Run 'what-if' scenarios, resolve schedule slippage, and proactively mitigate bottlenecks.
• Cross-Functional Unity: Collaborate with Cost, Risk, and Commercial teams to manage change controls.
• Advisory Leadership: Provide expert planning guidance to senior leaders and project managers.
