Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Planner to support major civil engineering and HV transmission & distribution projects, based out of Kentish Town with travel.

Qualifications

• Experience on major civil engineering or construction projects.
• Experience with HV power transmission and distribution projects.
• Proficient in planning software: P6, Asta, TILOS, QSRA.
• Experience with a range of planning techniques for tendering and contract delivery.
• Understanding of commercial and contractual interfaces with planning functions.

Responsibilities

• Assimilate information and summarise the work scope for others.
• Prepare a resourced programme and verify conformance with requirements.
• Contribute to the risk register and perform programme risk analysis.
• Prepare visual material to support planned methods.
• Manage project documentation in an orderly fashion.
• Define methods and outputs with estimators and supply chain when needed.
• Liaise with design engineers to establish a design brief for temporary works.
• Provide the estimator with a justified schedule of temporary works and indirect costs.
• Attend bid reviews to contribute a clear view of work scope and delivery plans.
• Attend handover meetings to define tasks and scope for delivery.
• Advise project team on feedback reports and support.

A day in the life of a Murphy Senior Planner:

• Assimilate information and summarise it in a manner that can be used to communicate the work scope to others.
• Prepare a resourced programme, including reviewing the outcome for conformance with expectations and requirements.
• Contribute to the risk register and undertake programme risk analysis.
• Prepare visual material in support of planned methods.
• Manage personally controlled project documentation in an orderly fashion.
• Define methods and establish outputs, in consultation with the estimator and other team members, including the supply chain in appropriate circumstances.
• Liaise with the design engineer to establish a design brief for temporary works.
• Provide the estimator with a justified schedule of temporary works and other indirect cost items.
• Attend the bid review meeting to contribute a clear view of the work scope and the intentions for delivering it by reference to prepared material.
• Attending the handover meeting to contribute a clear view of the work scope and the intentions for delivering it by reference to prepared material and clear further defined tasks.
• In consultation with Estimator advise project team of required feedback reports and support.

• Experience working on HV Power, Transmission & Distribution Projects
• Use of planning software (P6, Asta, TILOS, QSRA).
• Active experience of working with a wide range of planning techniques in serving both tendering and contract delivery.
• A clear understanding of the commercial and contractual interfaces with the planning function.
