Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Planner to support the Glaslyn project in Porthmadog, as part of the Great Grid partnership. You will assimilate information, prepare resourced programmes and contribute to risk registers, working closely with estimators and the design team to define temporary works and cost items.

Experience on major civil engineering and HV transmission projects, with strong skills in P6, Asta, TILOS and QSRA, will be essential for delivery across tendering and contract phases

Qualifications

• Experience on Major Civil Engineering and/or Construction projects.
• Experience working on HV Power, Transmission & Distribution Projects.
• Proficient in planning software: P6, Asta, TILOS, QSRA.
• Experience with tendering and contract delivery.
• Understanding commercial/contract interfaces with planning function.

Responsibilities

• Assimilate information and summarise it for work scope communication.
• Prepare a resourced programme and review conformance with requirements.
• Contribute to the risk register and perform programme risk analysis.
• Prepare visual material to support planned methods.
• Manage project documentation in an orderly fashion.
• Define methods and outputs with the estimator and supply chain as appropriate.
• Liaise with the design engineer to establish a design brief for temporary works.
• Provide the estimator with a justified schedule of temporary works and indirect costs.
• Attend bid review meetings to present work scope and delivery approach.
• Attend handover meetings to define tasks and delivery plan.
• Advise project team on feedback reports and support.

A day in the life of a Murphy Senior Planner:

• Assimilate information and summarise it in a manner that can be used to communicate the work scope to others.
• Prepare a resourced programme, including reviewing the outcome for conformance with expectations and requirements.
• Contribute to the risk register and undertake programme risk analysis.
• Prepare visual material in support of planned methods.
• Manage personally controlled project documentation in an orderly fashion.
• Define methods and establish outputs, in consultation with the estimator and other team members, including the supply chain in appropriate circumstances.
• Liaise with the design engineer to establish a design brief for temporary works.
• Provide the estimator with a justified schedule of temporary works and other indirect cost items.
• Attend the bid review meeting to contribute a clear view of the work scope and the intentions for delivering it by reference to prepared material.

• In consultation with Estimator advise project team of required feedback reports and support.

• Experience working on HV Power, Transmission & Distribution Projects.
• Use of planning software (P6, Asta, TILOS, QSRA).
• Active experience of working with a wide range of planning techniques in serving both tendering and contract delivery.
• A clear understanding of the commercial and contractual interfaces with the planning function.
