Job summary

Wolviston Management Services are supporting our client in recruiting a Permit to Work Supervisor to join the Operations team in the North-East. The role focuses on controlling and coordinating Permit to Work, Control of Work and plant isolation to ensure safe planning and execution in a high-hazard environment.

You will review permits, authorise work, manage LOTO and gas monitoring, and collaborate with Operations, Maintenance and Projects to maintain safe, compliant work practices across the

Qualifications

• Experience supervising or managing teams.
• Experience in Oil & Gas or high-hazard environments.
• Permit to Work coordination and confined-space work.
• IOSH qualification and LOTO experience.
• Strong risk assessment and safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

• Authorising Permits to Work in consultation with Operations and relevant departments.
• Ensure planned work can be completed safely without conflicting with other Terminal activities.
• Review risk assessments, method statements, hazard identification and safety documentation.
• Ensure appropriate isolation, gas monitoring and control measures are established before work begins.
• Issue gas-free, confined-space entry, naked-light and other required certificates.
• Coordinate daily permit meetings and support planning of maintenance and project activities.
• Manage and control Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) and plant isolation requirements.
• Review contractor permits and supporting documentation for full compliance with site requirements.
• Carry out contractor and permit audits and challenge unsafe practices where necessary.
• Exercise authority to stop work where activities or controls are unsafe.
• Control, test and maintain records for gas monitoring equipment.
• Support planning and coordination of tank cleaning and preparation activities.
• Collaborate across Operations, Maintenance, Technical and Projects to coordinate resources.
