Job summary

Carbon 60, Inc. is seeking an experienced Permit Officer to join a major operation in Speke, Liverpool.

This newly created role centralises the Permit to Work process, reviewing, issuing and controlling contractor permits to maintain high safety and compliance across site activities. The successful candidate will confidently challenge unsafe practices, make risk-based decisions and collaborate with engineering, maintenance and contractor teams to uphold safe working practices and strong safety

Qualifications

• Strong health and safety background with experience in high-risk environments.
• Proven ability to review RAMS and safe systems of work.
• Experience managing contractor activities in industrial settings.
• Formal Permit to Work authoriser/issuer training.

Responsibilities

• Review, authorise and manage contractor permits across site.
• Ensure all Permit to Work processes comply with requirements.
• Review RAMS and identify missing controls.
• Conduct site inspections prior to permit issue.
• Coordinate multiple contractors and activities safely.
• Monitor permit compliance and challenge unsafe behaviours.
