Job summary

Burgess Hodgson LLP in Canterbury, Kent, is seeking a Senior People Partner to lead complex advisory work for retained, PAYG, and multi-client projects.

You will advise business owners, Boards and senior leaders on HR strategy, risk management, TUPE and organisational change, while mentoring colleagues.

This onsite role includes Monday–Friday 9:00–17:30 hours, travel to client sites across the UK, and a salary range of £65,000–£78,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• CIPD Level 5 minimum required.
• CIPD Level 7 or equivalent senior HR experience desirable.
• Eight years generalist HR experience including complex ER casework.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex and higher-risk retained client matters (grievances, absence, capability, investigations).
• Act as lead adviser for selected clients and build trusted relationships with business owners, Boards and senior leaders.
• Diagnose client issues using data and context to identify risk and priorities.
• Create people plans, advisory roadmaps and clear recommendations.
• Explain risk and options clearly and commercially.
