Job summary

Referment is expanding its pension risk transfer advisory capability in the UK. The role sits in a post-transaction team that guides trustees and sponsoring employers through buy-ins to wind-up, coordinating with insurers and advisers to ensure a smooth end-to-end process.

The ideal candidate will have strong pensions knowledge, proven project management skills and a proactive, collaborative approach to delivering complex wind-up projects while managing client relationships and delivering

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in a pensions consulting environment, or possibly with a bulk annuity provider.
• Proven experience of insurer post-transaction processes and wider aspects of pension scheme wind-ups.
• Strong UK pensions technical knowledge, with an understanding of the legislative requirements around wind-ups.
• Excellent project management skills, able to develop detailed project plans and drive tasks to completion against timescales.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders including advisers, insurers, trustee boards and sponsoring employers.
• Excellent written and oral communication, including leading and delivering presentations at client meetings.
• Proactive, solutions-driven approach with strategic thinking while recognising risks and issues.
• Evidence of overseeing the financial aspects and managing risks associated with projects.

Responsibilities

• Work on a variety of projects helping schemes navigate the move from a completed buy-in to buy-out and ultimate wind-up.
• Build relationships with clients, their advisers and insurers, actively project-managing the process to keep it on track.
• Support clients in moving their schemes to wind-up within their desired timescales.
• Contribute to the wider team’s strategy, attend networking events and conferences, and support new business tenders.
