Job summary

Emerald Group in London seeks an experienced consultant to join their Post Transaction Team as they expand capabilities in risk transfer, supporting buy-in to buy-out and wind-up projects.

You will build strong client relationships with trustees, advisers and insurers, manage projects to schedule, and apply deep pension knowledge to ensure compliant, timely wind-ups while delivering practical solutions.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years in consulting or bulk annuity provider.
• Proven insurer post-transaction and wind-up experience.
• Strong UK pensions technical knowledge and wind-up rules.
• Ability to produce detailed project plans and timelines.
• Experience delivering presentations at client meetings.
• Experience with new business tenders is helpful but not essential.

With the significant increase in pension risk transfer activity, they have an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join their highly successful Post Transaction Team as they expand their capabilities.

Key responsibilities including but are not limited to:

• You will be working on a variety of projects to assist schemes as they navigate the move from completing a buy-in transaction to buy-out and ultimate wind-up.
• You’ll be building relationships with your clients, their advisers and insurers to ensure a smooth and successful transition to buy-out and wind-up, actively project managing the process to ensure it progresses in a timely fashion, giving peace of mind that the necessary steps have been undertaken and finding pragmatic solutions to any issues that arise.
• They are seeking an experienced consultant who is enthusiastic about risk transfer projects and passionate about achieving good outcomes for trustees, sponsors and members alike.
• You will utilise your project management skills, depth of experience and collaborative approach to support clients as they move their schemes to ultimate wind-up within their desired timescales.
• Evidence of overseeing financial aspects and managing risks associated with projects
• At least 7 years of experience in the consulting environment or with a bulk annuity provider
• Proven experience of insurer post transaction processes and wider aspects of pension scheme wind-ups
• Strong UK pensions technical knowledge and understanding of legislative requirements around wind-ups
• Ability to develop detailed projects plans and drive progress against timescales. Recognised project management qualifications desired but not essential
• Ability to establish strong collaborative working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including other advisers, insurers, trustee boards and sponsoring employers
• Experience in leading and delivering presentations at client meetings
• Proactive and solutions-driven approach and ready to hit the ground running
• Enjoy taking an active role to guarantee client satisfaction for the duration of projects and have a willingness to foster new client relationships
• Experience of new business tenders is helpful (but not essential)
