Job summary

Emerald Group in London seeks an experienced pensions consultant to support schemes as they transition from buy-in to buy-out and ultimate wind-up. You will manage client relationships with advisers and insurers, actively project-manage to meet timelines and deliver pragmatic solutions.

The role requires at least four years in consulting or bulk annuity, strong UK pensions knowledge, and the ability to develop detailed project plans.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in the consulting environment or with a bulk annuity provider.
• Strong UK pensions technical knowledge and understanding of wind-up legislation.
• Ability to develop detailed project plans and drive progress against timescales.
• Ability to establish strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders including advisers, insurers, trustee boards and sponsoring employers.
• Enjoy taking an active role to guarantee client satisfaction and foster new client relationships.

Responsibilities

• You will be working on a variety of projects to assist schemes as they navigate the move from completing a buy-in transaction to buy-out and ultimate wind-up.
• Their clients are a mixture of existing clients and clients with incumbent advisers seeking independent de-risking expertise to meet their strategic objectives.
• You'll be building relationships with your clients, their advisers and insurers to ensure a smooth and successful transition to buy-out and wind-up, actively project managing the process to ensure it progresses in a timely fashion, giving peace of mind that the necessary steps have been undertaken and finding pragmatic solutions to any issues that arise.
• They are seeking a consultant who is enthusiastic about risk transfer projects and passionate about achieving good outcomes for trustees, sponsors and members alike.
• You will utilise your project management skills, depth of experience and collaborative approach to support clients as they move their schemes to ultimate wind-up within their desired timescales.
• You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the strategy of the wider team, attend networking events/conferences and contribute to new business tenders.
