Marks & Spencer is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to evolve the Payments Platform that powers online payments across our business. You will build high-volume transactional services, APIs, and resilient integrations, supporting millions of customer journeys.

Qualifications

• Senior backend engineer with Java expertise and enterprise experience.
• Strong focus on scalable, resilient systems and APIs.
• Experience with CI/CD, observability and production support.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve payment services and capabilities across digital platforms.
• Develop resilient backend services and integrations handling millions of transactions.
• Own features end-to-end including design, development, testing, deployment and production support.
• Shape technical direction of the Payments platform with a focus on performance, scalability and security.
• Champion engineering best practices and maintainable, well-tested code.
• Drive observability, monitoring, resilience and supportability by design.
