Job summary

Bank of England is seeking a Senior Business Analyst for the Payments Innovation and Fintech Directorate in Leeds. The role bridges business and engineering, translating goals into clear product requirements while facilitating agile ceremonies and workshops.

You will document processes, support backlog prioritisation, and drive improvements across payments and digital currency initiatives. Strong communication and API/data integration insight are essential.

Qualifications

Experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or similar in a technical/engineering environment.
Hands-on with Agile delivery and cross-functional teams.
Ability to create process maps, workflows and user stories.
Strong ability to break down complex problems into clear, structured requirements.
Excellent communication—explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

Capture and document business processes and requirements for common understanding among stakeholders.
Translate business goals into clear product requirements with engineers and architects.
Support backlog prioritisation based on value, risk and constraints.
Facilitate sprint ceremonies and requirements workshops for clarity.
Create and maintain user journeys, acceptance criteria, data flows and feature definitions.
Ensure cross-team communication on status and direction.
Map and optimise business processes, identify pain points and propose improvements.
