Job summary

We are seeking a Senior Patient Access Officer for Elstree Outpatient Centre, The Wellington Hospital, London. This temporary role supports the Patient Access Leader in developing a high-quality, customer-focused service.

You will supervise day-to-day operations, ensure the team has supplies, and ensure patients meet HCA criteria for settlement. A car and valid licence are required to travel to the site.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a patient access or similar role is essential.
• Previous supervisory experience in a similar role is essential.
• Excellent Numeracy and Communication skills.
• IT literate.
• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all administrative functions are carried out to the highest standard.
• Ensure teams are equipped to carry out all tasks and maintain supplies.
• Ensure patients meet HCA criteria for successful and full financial settlement.
• Seek assistance from PAM/PAL with complex queries.
• Manage patient waiting areas to ensure smooth service.
• Support PAL to organise staffing and rosta management.
• Take on supervisory tasks within the team as required.
• Assist Patient Access Officers with more complex tasks.
• Deputise for the PAL as required.
