Job summary

HCA Healthcare UK – The Wilmslow Hospital is recruiting a Patient Liaison Officer to join our Patient Access team in Wilmslow, Cheshire. You will coordinate patient appointments and guide the patient journey, supporting self-pay patients, consultants and secretaries as the primary contact for pricing and quotations.

You will help with billing-related queries, manage calls and maintain accurate records while upholding our commitment to exceptional care and patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Experience in a healthcare setting, patient advocacy, or customer service.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, with empathy and clarity.
• Ability to build rapport with patients and consultants, adapting communication as needed.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively and keep accurate records.
• Awareness of diverse backgrounds and commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and support for referrals and patient pathways into HCA Healthcare UK.
• Act as a single point of contact for patients, consultants and secretaries, delivering high-quality service.
• Provide accurate self-pay quotations and address pricing queries.
• Support billing and administrative processes, resolving patient and consultant queries.
• Manage telephone calls professionally and redirect as needed.
• Demonstrate understanding of the patient referral pathway end-to-end.
• Maintain appropriate communication styles for patients, GPs, service managers and third parties.
• Gather feedback to enhance service delivery and address concerns promptly.
