Job summary

McLaren Automotive is seeking a Principal Technician for the Paint Shop in Woking. You will report to the Group Leader and ensure high-quality paint application across production, solving issues in quality stations and reworking to standard.

The role emphasizes strict safety adherence and 5S organization on the line. You will lead with practical problem-solving, contribute to continuous improvement, and maintain a calm, detail-oriented approach under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Proven experience and knowledge within paint application.
• Understanding of workplace safety risk assessments and their meaning.
• Ability to make sound and logical decisions.
• Experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Understand practical problem-solving methods and rework instructions.
• Escalate any issues found within the built-in quality stations and rectify to process standard.
• Ensure 5s within your work area in line with McLaren expectations.
• Maintain standards such as uniform/clothing provided.
• Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities as requested by your leader.
