Job summary

AXA Glasgow is expanding and seeking a New Business Senior Underwriter in Property & Casualty to drive profitability and lead underwriting decisions for larger risks. You will influence the underwriting team, collaborate with brokers and internal colleagues to win profitable business while maintaining AXA standards.

The role requires strong technical underwriting, market knowledge of the Scottish insurance landscape, and the ability to develop robust broker relationships.

Qualifications

• Technical underwriting expertise in a commercial insurance environment.
• Sound understanding of the Scottish insurance market.
• Experience in making decisions across a range of technical underwriting scenarios.
• Coaching and development skills within a team environment and proven delivery of results.
• Strong trading capability including broker relationship building.

Responsibilities

• Represent AXA in presenting propositions for Mid-Market and Mid-Corporate risks based on knowledge and underwriting expertise.
• Negotiate coverage, wordings and pricing with Trading Underwriters to meet customer needs.
• Develop a robust pipeline of Mid-Market and Mid-Corporate opportunities through client and broker relationships.
• Lead and embed the large case management process for new business.
• Build broker relationships across the region and generate profitable self-sourced business.
• Underwrite profitable new business within AXA controls and act as a referral point in branch.
• Maintain a quality distribution strategy and communicate with key brokers to achieve KPIs.
