Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan, is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist on a 6-month contract to assess adults with complex needs, enabling independence and safe care. You will coordinate equipment, housing adaptations and moving/handling assessments, working with Social Care Wales registered clinicians in a multidisciplinary setting.

The role requires registration with Social Care Wales, experience in adult social care, and strong report-writing skills.

Qualifications

• Qualified OT with registration in Social Care Wales.
• Experience in adult social care and complex caseloads.
• Strong report writing and assessment skills.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex OT assessments for adults with diverse needs.
• Assess for equipment and daily living aids.
• Undertake housing adaptation assessments.
• Carry out moving and handling assessments.
• Monitor effectiveness of equipment and adaptations.
• Promote independence and reduce service dependency.
• Collaborate with Social Workers, NHS staff and partners.
• Supervise OT Assistants, students and junior staff.
• Maintain case records and electronic systems.
• Participate in MDT meetings and service development.
• Contribute to improved outcomes for Vale of Glamorgan adults.
