Job summary

Sagoss is seeking an Operations Director to join our Henley-on-Thames team. You will lead engineering, support, projects, procurement and customer delivery, driving pace, clarity and accountability in operations.

Working directly with the CEO, you will mobilise new business, strengthen margins and build trusted customer and supplier relationships. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on leadership and offers significant impact.

Qualifications

• Senior operations leadership in engineering/tech or field-service business.
• Proven delivery across engineering, supply chain, procurement, support and bids.
• Strong business acumen with budgets, P&L, pricing decisions.
• Experience managing large, complex projects and contract mobilisations.
• Knowledge of compliance, health and safety and ISO management systems.
• Excellent communication with boards, customers and evaluation panels.
• Degree or equivalent in engineering, operations or business management.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead field operations and business services teams with clear plans and targets.
• Oversee engineering delivery, installations, and first-line support.
• Improve SLA performance, response times, dashboards using Power BI and AI.
• Own procurement strategy, supplier selection, contracts and logistics.
• Lead customer and partner relationships, handling escalations.
• Support growth through bids, tenders, pricing input and mobilisations.
• Maintain ISO-based management systems and compliance.
• Manage large multi-site projects with governance and risk reporting.
• Oversee budget, forecasting, pricing and profitability improvements.
• Build relationships with customers, suppliers and subcontractors.
