Job summary

Sagoss, a UK technology business, invites a senior operations leader to drive performance and customer outcomes. Working directly with the CEO, the Operations Director will oversee engineering, support, procurement and project delivery, delivering pace, clarity and accountability across the organisation.

The role offers strategic influence, hands-on leadership, and the chance to mobilise new business while strengthening margins and supplier relationships.

Qualifications

• Senior operations leadership experience in engineering/tech
• Proven delivery across engineering, supply chain, procurement, and customer delivery
• Strong business acumen: budgets, P&L, pricing, decisions
• Experience managing large, complex projects and contract mobilisations
• Knowledge of compliance, health and safety and ISO-based management systems
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with boards and panels
• Degree or equivalent in engineering, operations or business management
• Full UK driving licence

Responsibilities

• Lead field operations, set strategic goals, and turn strategy into operational plans.
• Oversee engineering delivery, installations, and first-line support for timely, high-quality work.
• Improve SLA performance, response times, dashboards, and reporting with data-driven tools.
• Own procurement strategy, supplier selection, and logistics to secure value and continuity.
• Lead customer support desks and escalation handling to improve service outcomes.
• Partner with Sales on opportunities, pricing input, and contract mobilisation.
• Maintain ISO-based management systems and ensure health and safety compliance.
• Direct large multi-site projects with governance, risk management, and reporting.
• Manage operational budget, forecasting, and profitability improvement.
• Build strong relationships with customers, partners, and suppliers.
