Job summary

Tesol Inc. in Glasgow is seeking a Senior Operational Communications Engineer to join a government/public sector technology team on a 6-month initial contract.

The role focuses on supporting and enhancing mission-critical communications infrastructure to ensure essential services remain available, secure and functional. Responsibilities include leading 3rd line support, incident resolution, system monitoring and upgrades, plus disaster recovery and resilience planning.

Qualifications

• Experience with mission-critical communications systems.
• Experience supporting business-critical systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable in fast-paced operational environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide 3rd line support across operational communications platforms.
• Lead investigation and resolution of complex incidents.
• Support maintenance, monitoring and enhancement of critical systems.
• Contribute to system upgrades and lifecycle management.
• Assist with disaster recovery and resilience planning.
• Mentor and guide other engineers in the team.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota.
