Venesky-Brown is recruiting a Senior Operational Comms Engineer for a 6-month contract based in Scotland. You will lead and develop operational communications systems using ITIL practices, manage incidents, and provide technical leadership across the team.

The role requires leadership, a strong ITIL background, and ability to travel across Scotland. On-call duties and ongoing staff development are part of the remit.

Qualifications

  • HND in Digital Technology, Electronic Engineering, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the support, monitoring, maintenance, and development of the organisations operational communications systems using ITIL best practices.
  • Manage incidents, service requests, changes, problems, capacity management, and life cycle management of communications infrastructure.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to engineers and direct reports.
  • Undertake line management duties including workload allocation, performance management, leave management, and staff development.
  • Lead documentation, disaster recovery, business continuity, innovation, and procurement activities.
  • Deliver third-line support for critical systems.
  • Participation in a 24/7 on-call rota providing support for mobilising and essential systems.
  • Travel throughout Scotland as required.

Job description

Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation with various locations across Scotland, is currently looking to recruit a Senior Operational Comms Engineer for an initial 6 month contract with option to extend on a rate of £350/day (Outside IR35). This role will be based in Scotland.

Responsibilities
