AECOM is seeking a Principal OHL Design Engineer to lead high-voltage overhead line projects within the Transmission & Distribution team. You will guide technical delivery, engage with clients, and shape engineering standards across multi-discipline schemes.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, feasibility studies, and compliant designs with PLS-CADD modelling, sag-tension, and conductor selection, while mentoring the team and supporting business development.

Formación

• CEng Chartered Engineer title or active membership is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline is required.
• Experience delivering HV OHL projects with operator standards (National Grid, SSE, SPT) is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Lead overhead line design on complex multi-discipline projects.
• Contribute to large programmes such as national grid upgrades.
• Write proposals detailing timelines, resources, budgets and objectives.
• Provide technical input during project implementation, planning, and public consultations.
• Deliver design activities including PLS-CADD modelling, sag-tension, and insulator/conductor selection.
• Perform feasibility studies and conductor thermal ratings.
• Check engineering deliverables and support business development.
