Job summary

DATS Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Offshore EC&I Engineer to join a specialist regulatory team. The role focuses on major hazard risk management in offshore oil & gas and petrochemical sectors, including safety cases, inspections, investigations and safety-critical systems.

You will assess EC&I, functional safety and OT cyber security arrangements, producing high-quality reports and expert evidence. Offshore travel is expected, with a hybrid work model in the UK.

Qualifications

• Substantial offshore EC&I engineering experience in major-hazard environments.
• OT/industrial cyber security knowledge and protection of safety-critical control systems.
• Experience with SIS and IEC 61511.
• Safety case assessment and development experience.
• HAZOP and risk assessment in major-hazard industries.
• Around technical weaknesses, risk assessment and improvements recommendations.
• Ideally experience with process control, ESD, Fire & Gas, Ex equipment, and FSM.

Responsibilities

• Assess safety cases and major hazard control measures.
• Undertake onshore and offshore technical inspections.
• Investigate incidents and provide specialist technical advice.
• Assess EC&I, functional safety and OT cyber security arrangements.
• Produce high-quality technical reports and expert evidence when required.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, operators and authorities.
• Advise on engineering standards, legislation and best practice.
