Job summary

WR Logistics in Portsmouth is seeking an experienced Ocean Import Coordinator to manage shipments from origin to final delivery. The role offers flexibility and standard daytime hours, with a salary up to £40,000 depending on experience.

You will liaise with carriers, agents, hauliers, and customers to ensure smooth imports. Working hours are typically 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday, with 28 days of holiday and a clear path for progression.

Qualifications

• Ocean import experience within freight forwarding.
• Strong understanding of import procedures and shipping documentation.
• Experience coordinating customs clearance and UK deliveries.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• An organised approach and the ability to manage multiple shipments.

Responsibilities

• Manage ocean import shipments from booking through to final delivery.
• Liaise with shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers and customers.
• Arrange collections and deliveries, monitoring shipment progress.
• Prepare and check shipping documentation.
• Coordinate customs clearance and ensure accurate information is provided.
• Prepare quotations, monitor shipment costs and complete invoicing.
• Resolve delays and keep customers informed throughout.
• Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
