Job summary

WR Logistics in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Ocean Import Coordinator to manage end-to-end ocean import shipments from origin to delivery. You will coordinate bookings, liaise with shipping lines, agents and customers, and ensure accurate documentation and timely clearance.

The role requires knowledge of UK import customs, FCL/LCL handling, and strong organisational skills to manage multiple shipments with attention to detail. Salary £28,000 - £35,000 DOE, based in Lichfield.

Qualifications

• Experience in ocean freight forwarding, import operations.
• Knowledge of UK ocean import process from vessel arrival to final delivery.
• Experience with FCL/LCL shipments.
• Familiarity with UK import customs procedures and documentation.
• Experience liaising with shipping lines, hauliers, overseas agents and customers.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
• Experience arranging UK haulage and delivery appointments.
• Experience dealing with demurrage and detention.
• Experience with international freight forwarding networks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate ocean import shipments from booking to final delivery.
• Manage FCL and LCL imports from international origins into the UK.
• Liaise with shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers, customs teams and customers.
• Monitor vessel schedules, arrivals, transshipments and delays; update customers.
• Arrange UK haulage and final delivery requirements.
• Prepare and process import documents (Bills of Lading, arrival notices, delivery instructions).
• Coordinate with customs teams to ensure timely clearance.
• Ensure import docs are received from overseas agents and customers.
• Handle queries on delays, docs issues, demurrage, detention.
• Update systems with shipment information and maintain records.
• Liaise with overseas offices/agents for smooth shipment lifecycle.
• Assist with resolving operational issues and identify potential problems early.
