Job summary

Powys Teaching Health Board currently seeks a dedicated Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Dementia Home Treatment Team South at Breconshire War Memorial Hospital in Brecon.

This permanent, full-time role (37.5 hours/week, Mon-Fri 9am-5pm) focuses on crisis support, enabling patients to regain quality of life, with supervision of juniors and participation in service development.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy (OT).
• HCPC registered.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
• Knowledge of OT models of practice and clinical governance.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist OT service for Powys Teaching Health Board in a designated area.
• Manage a caseload of clients with complex needs using client-centred principles.
• Provide leadership for junior staff through supervision and appraisal.
• Plan, develop and evaluate OT services within the area/team.
• Supervise OT students on practice placements and deputise for Team Leader when needed.
• Work flexibly across locality to meet service needs and cover other areas as appropriate.
