Job summary

Swansea Bay University Health Board is seeking a Band 6 Occupational Therapist for the orthogeriatric team at Neath Port Talbot Hospital. The role supports part-time options (minimum 34 hours) within an integrated MDT, providing specialist assessment, goal-directed intervention, and rehabilitation to patients in hospital, community and home settings.

You will supervise junior staff and OT students, contribute to service development, and work flexibly to meet service needs with a 7-day shift

Qualifications

• Experience with autonomous caseload management using evidence-based practice.
• Understanding of OT process in the post's specialist area.
• Knowledge of Clinical Governance principles.
• Broad knowledge of current best practice in OT with designated client group.
• Experience supervising staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage a defined caseload in specialist area with evidence-based assessment, planning and evaluation.
• Maintain clinical records to agreed standards and report accurately.
• Work in partnership with clients, carers and MDT to identify goals.
• Provide leadership and supervision for junior staff.
• Supervise OT students on practice placements.
• Participate in CPD and service development activities.
• Work flexibly, including 7-day shift pattern and extended hours.
