The role involves planning and delivering occupational therapy interventions and coordinating therapeutic programs. Optionsfor Care are recruiting a Senior Occupational Therapist to work at DartmouthHouse, one of our mental health inpatient services in Birmingham. We have two furtherhospitals and a recovery home:
Montague Court: 18-bed male long termcomplex care mental health inpatient unit, Edgbaston
Dartmouth House: 16-bed male long termcomplex care mental health inpatient unit, Handsworth Wood
Stanford Court: 19-bed male mentalhealth high dependency inpatient unit based in Highgate.
Orchard House: 8-bed residentialstep-down recovery service, Erdington
We arelooking for a dynamic OT with a passion for working with people who have severeand enduring mental health diagnoses. The MOHOST is established as the coreoccupational therapy assessment tool, providing evidence of change and focus onoccupation. Additional assessments are completed as led by service-user need.
Thesuccessful candidate will be based at Dartmouth House and will be supported by theHead of Therapies.
-To plan and deliver a range of occupational therapyassessments and interventions promoting recovery and well-being forservice-users with severe and enduring mental health needs.
-To co-ordinate and lead on provision of the therapeuticprogramme, including running both group and individual sessions.
-To work as an integrated member of the multidisciplinaryteam, under the supervision of the Head of Therapies, ensuring the occupationalneeds of the service-users are considered and addressed.
- To assist in running the Occupational Therapyteam, providing management supervision to OTAs.
-To understand and implement the mission, vision and valuesof the organisation.
