Job summary

Busy Bees Newcastle Jesmond nursery in central Newcastle seeks a Senior Nursery Room Leader who will oversee multiple rooms, ensure consistent delivery of our Bee Curious curriculum, and inspire a high-performing team to deliver outstanding care and learning.

You’ll mentor Room Leaders, manage safeguarding and wellbeing, build strong relationships with parents, and ensure compliance with health and safety. Level 3 qualification and leadership experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification or higher in early years education.
• Supervisory or leadership experience in an early years setting.
• Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the delivery of activities and curriculum across multiple rooms, ensuring consistency.
• Lead planning and adapt activities to meet diverse needs of children.
• Mentor and develop Room Leaders, supporting high performance and teamwork.
• Safeguard and wellbeing responsibilities across the centre, including additional needs where required.
• Build strong relationships with parents and keep them informed of development.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and safeguarding protocols across the centre.

What To Expect As a Senior Nursery Room Leader

• Ensure that educational strategies and practices are consistent across multiple rooms.
• Lead the planning and delivery of activities, adapting the curriculum to meet the diverse needs of the children.

• Oversee the wellbeing and safeguarding of children, making necessary adaptations to support children with additional needs.

Ideal Candidate

• Level 3 qualification or above in early years education.
• Experience in an early years setting, with supervisory or leadership experience ideally as a Senior Nursery Room Leader, Senior Nursery Room Manager or Senior Nursery Practitioner.
• Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
• Ability to foster an inclusive and supportive environment for both children and team members.
