Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Safety Case professional to lead critical safety case activities in a heavily regulated environment in Bristol, UK. You will coordinate hazard analyses, conduct DSAs/PSAs, and ensure regulatory compliance, delivering high-quality safety arguments and reports.

The role requires Chartered status or active progression toward it, with experience across safety case management and nuclear licensing.

Qualifications

• Chartered member or working towards Chartered/ Incorporated Engineer status with a relevant body.
• Proven experience in safety case management within a heavily regulated environment.
• Knowledge of nuclear plant systems or structures and related design/assessment guidelines.
• Experience delivering projects to standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Produce and manage Safety Case documents, including reports and PSRs/PCSRs.
• Lead hazard identification and risk assessment studies (HAZID/HAZOP).
• Conduct deterministic and probabilistic safety assessments.
• Engage with clients, regulators and third parties to present technical arguments.
• Mentor junior team members and share technical best practices.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and integrate safety principles into engineering designs.
• Produce technical calculations and clear, supported justifications for safety cases.
• Represent the business in technical meetings and risk reviews.
• Support safety case delivery across projects in UK and internationally.
